Singapore – 30 November 2007 –
ControlsAsia, InstrumentAsia & AnaLabAsia (CIA2007) came
to a successful closure today with 6,852 business and trade
visitors.
The four-day trade show provided a focused marketplace for
process engineering, instrumentation and analytical technology
suppliers to meet their respective clientele in the chemical
and petrochemical processing, refining, food and beverage
processing, biotechnology, life sciences, pharmaceutical,
as well as pulp and paper industries.
CIA 2007 showcased innovative products and services from
more than 623 exhibiting companies from 43 countries and regions.
Visitors to the exhibitions were impressed by the display
of new technologies, and exhibitors were pleased with the
valuable visitors.
“We met a good number of foreign visitors to the show,
which is helpful since our business spans across the region.
We look forward to seeing more valuable buyers in the next
CIA, we will be back to exhibit again in 2009.” said
Voo Chung Mong, Product Manager, Mitsubishi Electric Asia
Pte Ltd.
“Weidmuller is here to expand its customer base and
create awareness of the products and services we offer. This
is our first time participating at CIA2007, and I found the
exhibition is professionally well-organised.” said Mark
Lim Yeun Chen, Senior Sales and Application Engineer, Weidmuller.
Another satisfied exhibitor, Janet Ng, Marketing, Lee Hung
Scientific Pte Ltd said, “CIA is an excellent platform
in pulling together instrumentation providers and industrial
users to share and exchange latest technology and knowledge.
With our participation in successive years, it not only generates
potential leads, but also broadens our gateway to the Asian
market. This event is a remarkable venue where we have the
opportunity to meet and network with our global business partners
and enrich our scientific know-how. To CIA, we give our two
thumbs up!”
Exhibitors established plenty of industry contacts, secured
prospective business deals and generated new sales leads.
The value CIA has brought to exhibitors was evident through
repeat exhibitors to the show.
“CIA is an important show for us to present our products
to customers. This is the sixth time we are exhibiting at
CIA since the Singapore office was set up in 1996. We have
also increased our presence from a 12sqm booth to a 36sqm
booth,” said Marcus von Kloeden, Managing Director of
Metrohm Singapore Pte Ltd.
First-time and regular visitors to CIA sang praises on the
quality of the show. Many of them found CIA to be a good sourcing
ground for their solution needs and the ideal place to meet
existing and prospective business partners.
“I am at CIA2007 to build contacts and collect product
information. I met a customer in March and concluded a refrigeration
deal for a reasonably good price. This exhibition allows me
to follow up with this customer again. In addition, I met
a Spanish company, which I will be following up for future
business collaboration,” said Per Holst, Regional Sales
Manager, Gram Commercial A/S, Germany.
Many visitors had also indicated that they would return to
visit CIA again, and hope to see more technologies and exhibitors
in the next show.
”This is my first visit to CIA. I have come here to
buy products such as Vicat, water bath / oil bath and viscosity
online testing, which I had managed to find. CIA2007 had also
widened my contacts for other products that I am looking for.
I am very pleased with the results and I am going to return
again.” said Mr. Kalayil Thomas Varghese, Regional Managing
Director, Reynolds Polymer Technology Asia Ltd, Thailand.
“This is my first visit to CIA and Enviro Asia. I am
impressed with the quality of the shows and find that the
exhibitions are critical for today’s environmentally
conscious world. I’ll definitely be back and hope to
see more in 2009,” said Peter Birkett, Director, EnBiz,
New Zealand.
Rae Chan, Manager, H&H Precision, Precision Engineering,
Singapore added, “I found the CIA website useful and
informative as it helped me narrow my search prior to coming
to the show. I was able to take note and research on all the
companies I am interested to approach. I also came to view
the latest technologies available in the market, and would
like to see more fluid control system companies exhibiting
at the show. I will come back for the next show.”
“This is my first time at CIA2007. I am very happy
with what I can find here. In this exhibition, I got to know
the future trend of automation and many new products in this
industry. I have also received a lot of business contacts
that I can bring back to India. I have also attended the conferences
(ICS Technical Forum), which were very informative for me.
I must congratulate SES for a very well organized exhibition.
There are many international companies here and they represent
all technologies combining under 1 big umbrella.” said
Mr. Kailash Chandra Tripathy, Deputy General Manager, NTPC
(National Thermal Power Corp.) Ltd, India.
Minora Nagahama, Research and Development Section, Sasakura
Engineering Co. Ltd, Japan achieved the objective of obtaining
business contacts at the show. “This is my first visit
to the exhibition. I came with the intention to gather contacts
and network for business purposes and I was able to achieve
my goal. I find that the instrument exhibiting companies at
the exhibition are good and this show is the best in Asia.
I will come back again.”
22.3% of the 6,838 visitors to CIA2007 was from overseas.
Enviro Asia, which was held alongside CIA, was attended by
5,035 visitors, 22.6% of the visitors coming from abroad.

The next CIA will return in 2009 from December 1 to 4 to
Suntec Singapore.
